TravelTex.com, the Official Site of Texas Tourism, has given me plenty to do over the last few years. Working for McCann-Erickson and "Texas," Olive Design redesigned the site in 2001 and as the Senior Designer I was responsible for maintaining the look and feel throughout the site. In 2003, the site was subjected to usability testing and from that great experience we were able to update the design. As the Design Director, I was more responsible for the new look and even had input on how the site functioned. Too bad they didn't approve our recommendation to let the designers travel across the state for several weeks to record what fun we could have. But on occasion they did call on us to design banner advertising and help out with print materials.
